Free Shipping?
Large online retailers would have you believe that shipping can be provided for free, I'm not convinced.
I have spent a lot of time mulling over the best way of tackling the free shipping fallacy and it's not easy.
Personally I love free shipping, I will even buy extra items so I hit the free shipping threshold. The human brain is fascinating, I would rather pay £35.00 for a pair of socks that have free shipping than pay £28.00 plus £3.00 shipping (I need to work on modifying these attitudes). Research suggests that free shipping encourages customers to make riskier more impulsive purchases which results in more returns.

So here's what we are going to do, when you buy your Speed Socks they will ship within the UK for free (it's not free, the cost is coming out of my profit). If your socks are damaged or faulty you can send them back and the shipping cost will be refunded to you. What you can't do is buy several pairs, keep the ones you want and expect to send the others back for free. This isn't good for the environment and it will eventually send Ghost Robes out of business.

This may seem a bit harsh but Ghost Robes is a tiny start up business, I simply can't compete with the big companies responsible for warping our outlook and duping us into believing that free shipping is possible.
